[INSD]e* — Inquiries in Strategic Design — is a multi-disciplinary design practice that begins with the question before it arrives at the form.
Strategic Design treats every project as a system. Not a deliverable. The work is in understanding the forces that shape a problem, the decisions that define it, and the relationships it needs to hold together.
Design is not applied after the strategy. Design is the strategy.
The practice operates through seven domains of inquiry: Architecture is one of them. So is visualisation. So is research. So is art curation.
A project might need a building, a brand, a spatial strategy, or a research brief. Often it needs several at once. The domains exist so that nothing is forced into a single discipline's frame.
[INSD]e* works collaboratively with researchers, designers from different fields, engineers and technical specialists — so that no problem is beyond scope and every solution can be strategically designed.
Emergence is the condition through which everything connects. It is what appears when the parts of a system begin to behave as something greater than their sum. Each domain of inquiry within [INSD]e* is not a silo. It is a root. Architecture informs research. Visualisation sharpens strategy. Education feeds back into experiment. The domains do not run parallel. They converge. These seven domains are the measurable means. What emerges from their intersection is the inquiry itself.
INSD-eNV is the primary built-environment arm of the practice. It covers the full scope of residential architecture, interior design, spatial strategy, developer consultancy, and site advisory from first brief to construction delivery.
The work begins before the drawing does. Every project starts with an understanding of the site, the client, and the context. Architecture here is not a product delivered at the end of a process. It is the process.

INSD-eXP translates design intent into spatial experience before a single wall is built. Visualisation here is not a marketing tool applied at the end. It is a design instrument used to test, communicate, and refine spatial ideas at every stage of the process.

INSD-ePI is the intellectual backbone of [INSD]e*. It is where the practice thinks out loud through housing research, urban feasibility studies, strategic design consulting, and retainer-based advisory.

INSD-eDU is where [INSD]e* transmits what it knows. It covers visiting faculty engagements, design-technology workshops, critical thinking seminars, and academic collaborations. Currently anchored to Nitte Institute of Architecture in Mangalore.
INSD-eXM is where [INSD]e* works without a brief. It is the domain of speculative design, competition entries, and design research.

INSD-eXC is the outward social layer of the practice. INSDeR, the first project under this domain, is a recurring encounter format that builds network, generates live spatial research, and creates visibility that no advertisement can.
INSD-eYE is the aesthetic intelligence layer of [INSD]e*. It operates across three modes: sourcing art for spaces, producing curated exhibitions, and developing independent art programming. The art brief is not an afterthought. It is part of the spatial brief from the first conversation.
